The catalogue Menschenbilder was published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at Kunsthalle Darmstadt in 1968 and accompanies the 10th conference in Darmstadt. It was organized by the city of Darmstadt under the patronage of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The exhibition deals with the human image in contemporary art whereat Gerhard Richter’s portraits from the mid 1960s were displayed.
